The iPhone Dev-Team now have released Redsn0w 0.9.7 B1 for untethered the new ios 4.2.1 jailbreak. Redsn0w 0.9.7 beta 1 is able to you jailbreak (untethered) iPhone 4, iPod touch 4G and iPad on iOS 4.2.1. Below is simply way to jailbreak your iOS device using Redsn0w 0.9.7b1.
Note before jailbreak (untethered) iPhone 4, iPod touch 4G and iPad:
- This pretty first beta1 is limited to iPhone4, iPad, and iPod touch 4G.
- Cydia require your 4.2b3 SHSH blobs saved on file.
- Must have new ios 4.2.1 firmware and iOS 4.2 Beta 3 firmware files in your desktop.
- Download RedsnOw 0.9.7 beta 1
Step 1: Restore your current iOS device to the official iOS 4.2.1 firmware and jailbreak it using Redsn0w .
STEP 2: Once jailbroken,you need tap on Cydia and find out if your 4.2b3 SHSH blobs saved or not.
Step 3: Download Redsn0w 0.9.7 and connect your apple iphone 4, iPod touch 4G and ipad tablet with Mac.
Step 4: Get usbmuxd source package and unpack, launch the terminal.app and next procede with going into folder python-client:
chmod +x tcprelay.py
Run ./tcprelay.py -t 22:222
Step 5: Start Redsn0w0.9.7 beta 1 and choose the file 4.2.1 ipsw firmware by clicking on the browse button, Redsn0w will recognize the firmware as well as begin a quick process to patching kernels etc.
Step 6: At this point click on “Next” and choose “Jailbreak Monte” option and Redsn0w is going to redirect you to browse and choose iOS 4.2 beta 3 firmware file. .
Step 7: Switch off your apple iphone 4, iPod touch 4G or apple ipad but check to make sure it’s still connected to USB port, then click next to continue the next step is to put your iPhone in DFU mode.
Step 8: Now make sure that your device is both OFF and PLUGGED IN to the pc before you click “Next” button.
