While Android and iPhone are currently king in the smart phone arena, the Windows 7 Phone  is an up and coming mobile operating system that has a lot to offer and is the basis for many of Windows 8′s desktop ideas. 1. LG Quantum

LG is known for their feature phone offerings, but they’re beginning to step into the smart phone arena. Their first Windows 7 Phone offering is the LG Quantum, which also features a fold out keyboard. The display is only 3.5 inches and the camera on the device is only a 3 mega-pixel camera with no front facing camera. The Quantum is designed to be easy to use for people who are new to the smart phone world. Its mobile broadband offers 3G connectivity as well.

2. Samsung Focus

Samsung has always been a major player in the Android market share, but the manufacturer offers a great Windows 7 Phone device as well. It features a 4″ AMOLED screen for amazing clarity and a slide out QWERTY keypad to make texting and browsing the web even easier. Hotmail and Microsoft Office can be accessed directly from the phone. It also supports 3G and while the speeds aren’t as great as 4G phones, the mobile broadband offers a great way to stay connected no matter where you are.

3. Dell Venue Pro

Dell is more commonly associated with the computer industry than the smart phone industry, but their initial Windows 7 Phone offering is a great device. It features a 4.1″ AMOLED touch screen, as well as a 5MP camera for capturing great photos and video. In technical specs it is on par with the Samsung Omnia 7, though the picture quality might be a little less when you compare the two. Full HD video recording is possible with the Venue Pro as well, so it’s a solid device.

4. HTC HD7

We’ve saved the best for last in the form of the HTC HD7, as it has a 4.3″ display and an amazing 16GBs of internal storage for all your apps, music, pictures, and documents. The 5MP camera is on par with devices in the same level, so expect good high quality pictures out of this great device.

 

5. HTC Arrive

HTC is another major player in the Android market share, but their Windows 7 devices are also some of the sleekest available for WP7 enthusiasts. The Arrive has a smaller 3.6″ touch screen that doesn’t feature Samsung’s AMOLED screen quality, but it makes up for this with a 5MP camera that can take incredibly sharp photos. The battery life for the phone is rather decent as well, and can provide you with up to 10 hours of life in a single charge. A slide out keyboard rounds out the features of this phone.

 

6. Samsung Omnia 7

As always, Samsung offers the best devices when it comes to Android or Windows 7 Phone. The Omnia is designed for expert smart phone users who need more power from their phone. It boasts a 4″ super AMOLED display with a 5MP camera for taking amazingly sharp photos. The device also features full 720p HD video play back, so you can capture and watch HD video no matter where you are. While 4G isn’t one of the mobile broadband offers featured on the Omnia, it is still a solid phone for any user.
