Entertainment options abound in Monroe County

After two years of scarce entertainment options, the local events calendar in the Monroe County area is filling up.

Many local and regional fairs, festivals and special events were organized.

Some events, like the Luna Pier Freedom Fest, are returning after a two-year COVID hiatus. Others, including the Milan Music Fest (formerly the Milan Bluegrass Festival), are resuming a larger event after a scaled-down version in 2021.

The Milan Bluegrass Festival, now called Milan Music Fest, is scheduled for August 2-6.

A few regular offerings, such as the Sumpter Township Country Fest and the Labor Day Festival at St. Joseph’s Church in Erie, remain canceled. St. Joseph may hold a one-day festival in the fall; plans will be announced later.

Other upcoming events will be announced in The Monroe News as dates are set. To report an event, email [email protected]
